Dear Nominator,


Thank you for contributing to the selection process for the 3rd Cohort of the ALU Public Sector Fellowship. We appreciate your role in nominating exemplary African public sector leaders who can benefit from this fellowship and drive transformative change in their countries. As you prepare to nominate, please carefully consider the following guidelines to ensure your nominees align with the fellowship’s mission and goals:


Who can submit a nomination?

Nominators should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a senior public sector role on the African continent.

  • Lead an organisation committed to addressing public sector challenges.

  • Be in a position to commit their organisation to supporting the fellow’s leadership growth and implementation projects as part of the fellowship program.


Who Should Be Nominated?

We are seeking fellows who:

  • Demonstrate leadership in the African public sector and are actively engaged in addressing critical national priorities.

  • Show commitment to improving service delivery within their agencies or ministries for the benefit of citizens and investors.

  • Exhibit potential to leverage insights from the fellowship to influence policy, governance, and administrative reforms.

  • Display a passion for learning and are ready to engage with a pan-African community of leaders to drive change.

  • Have a track record of success and integrity in public service, with a focus on innovation and results-oriented leadership.


Nomination Guidelines

When nominating, please consider individuals who:

  • Hold mid to senior-level roles within the public sector (including ministries, government agencies, and public institutions).

  • Are deeply engaged in impactful projects or initiatives that have a measurable positive impact on their communities or countries.

  • Have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in public service or a related field.

  • Are both citizens and residents of an African country and demonstrate a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in public governance.

  • Can commit to the time and effort required for full participation in the fellowship program.
